BPC-157

Pentadecapeptide BPC 157 accelerates the healing of transected rat Achilles tendon and in vitro stimulates tendon outgrowth

Abstract: This study examined whether BPC 157 could accelerate healing of transected Achilles tendons in rats. BPC 157 (10 Β΅g/kg or 10 ng/kg) was administered intraperitoneally. Compared to controls, BPC 157-treated rats showed significantly faster functional recovery, increased collagen organization, and enhanced outgrowth of tendon explants in culture. Results suggest BPC 157 has direct effects on tendon healing through growth factor upregulation.

BPC-157 shows beneficial effects across colitis models by modulating the NO system, upregulating growth factors (EGF, FGF), promoting mucosal healing, and exerting anti-inflammatory effects. The compound maintains gut integrity and reverses lesions in experimentally induced IBD without observed side effects in animal models.

Abstract: Thymosin beta-4 (TΞ²4) was found to promote cardiomyocyte survival, migration, and angiogenesis following myocardial infarction in mice. TΞ²4 treatment significantly reduced infarct size and preserved cardiac function. The study identified TΞ²4 as a multifunctional repair peptide, acting through ILK signaling to promote cell survival and vessel formation in injured cardiac tissue.

Abstract: This study investigated Semax’s effects on monoaminergic systems in rat brain. Intranasal administration of Semax at doses of 50 and 250 Β΅g/kg increased BDNF expression and altered dopamine and serotonin turnover in the frontal cortex and striatum. These findings support Semax’s nootropic and neuroprotective properties through modulation of neurotrophin signaling and monoaminergic transmission.

Epithalamin increases the lifespan of fruit flies, mice and rats

Abstract: Epithalamin (the natural precursor to Epitalon) was administered to Drosophila, mice, and rats. All species showed increased mean and maximum lifespan compared to controls. In rats, epithalamin treatment reduced tumor incidence and normalized age-related changes in neuroendocrine function. This study was among the first to demonstrate life-extension properties of pineal-derived peptides across multiple species.

Ipamorelin, the first selective growth hormone secretagogue

Abstract: Ipamorelin was characterized as a highly selective GH secretagogue with a clean side-effect profile. Unlike GHRP-6, ipamorelin did not stimulate ACTH, cortisol, or prolactin release at doses that maximally stimulated GH. In rats and swine, ipamorelin produced dose-dependent GH release comparable to GHRP-6 but without the unwanted hormonal co-stimulation, making it a cleaner research tool for studying the GH axis.
